Spencers was established in 1993 at 467 Ecclesall Road, Sheffield 11, strategically chosen in the heart of Sheffields premier suburban shopping area, approximately one mile to the south west of the City Centre.

The location is ideal to facilitate the three functions which are the backbone of the company i.e. house sales, residential surveys and home buyer reports, and property management and lettings.

The south west quarter of Sheffield, leading out into the nearby Peak District National Park, has always been recognised as the premier sector, recently highlighted by the promotion of Hallam as the countrys most affluent electoral district outside London.

The office is positioned within walking distance of the Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield University, and the Collegiate site of Hallam University. A strong demand is experienced for rental accommodation to suit these, and other organisations, and the company specialises in rentals to professionals, and students.

Surveys are undertaken over a wider area, covering from Chesterfield in the south to Barnsley in the north, and Doncaster in the east. The company employs four qualified Chartered Surveyors, and therefore specialises in a wide range of professional valuation activity.

House sales are primarily under the control of Jim Spencer FRICS FNAEA, one of the founder members in the company. Spencers has always been active in the development and new house market, and acts as advisors to many major regional builders.

During a period of almost constant expansion Spencers has taken over the businesses of Fulwood Estate Agents, and Snowdens Estate Agents.

The company is fully computerised with state of the art equipment under the control of Anne Spencer MNAEA, another founder member, who controls administration.

The third director in the company is Geoff Ackroyd FRICS who manages the expanding property rental section.

The directors are backed up by a carefully selected first class team of trained and experienced staff, and the office provides splendid display facilities in a main road location, and is open six days per week. The Company aims to give a high level of personal service.

The office is positioned close to the Berkeley Centre, with car parking nearby, and the position offers easy access to a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and other facilities on Ecclesall Road, Sheffield 11.
